Meta Tags

Meta tags are located in the code section of a website and are most commonly used to describe your website to search engines and the user.

A general aspect of meta tags, for search engine optimisation purposes, used to be for keyword placement, and webmasters would stuff keywords into their tags in the hope of receiving a high prominence on search results related to those keywords.

However things have changed a lot within the last 10 years and some of the major search engines don’t rely on meta tags for determining website relevance anymore.

In saying this it is still important to allow the user quick identification of your services / products by using your meta tags properly.
