Sand Box
`Sandbox` relates to a special filter that it is widely said Google has applied to all new websites, it allows new sites to rank well for the first few weeks and then the sites drop off the search results and seemingly disappear.
Although the sites can have good content and a high PageRank there they are literally held back from achieving a top ranking position for their specific keywords.
Not all new sites are `sandboxed` however if a new website triggers the SEO or Spam filter alarms, the new site can be sandboxed.
The time it can take a website to get out of the sandbox effect ranges from 3 to 6 months depending on the level of competitive keywords it is targeting. Generally the more competitive the keyword / key phrase the more time spent in the sandbox.
